Al fresco in L.A.

Vermont is a hipster Los Angeles neighbourhood where Cafe Figaro has the best steak and frites with a perfectly, perfect glass of vino. I love the blue facade and actually, one of the people in the front was sitting there when I made the initial sketch. Turns out they are quite well known. I painted this in watercolour, hoping to capture a little bit of Paris in America.
