Brewed in Hollywood

For anyone who ever had a great first date this one’s for you. Los Angeles groups so many little cities into one, but Hollywood is the one we all know. I lived in that crazy city for most of my life, and always had a thing for that moment on the Hollywood 101 freeway where Hollywood and Vine connect.  So I pulled over and found a way to get higher, above the city, where I could sketch the old Broadway sign and some of the rooftops to get a sense of how I would scale the piece. I added the voyeur later, with the wife’s back to him. The Jacaranda trees bloom for a moment in May, but they create a blanket of lilac petals that are so pretty.
