Calm before the storm....

This piece is part of a series of my artist's residency with The Red Carnation group. I love how quintessentially British the architecture is and thought adding a sentry drinking a cup of tea would be perfect. I even gave him a Milestone china teacup, to celebrate the teas they are so well know for. 

The Queen's guard or sentries are such a fixture of the royal family. Those silent sentries always look so striking outside of the Palace facade. So I decided to import the painting of the hotel into my iPad. I created the Calm before the storm as a very British piece of art. Featuring our beloved history, and our favorite national pastime...a cup of tea. Where better to feature that than at The Milestone hotel.

This limited edition print would compliment any space with it's bright and happy tones. I loved making this and hope it will bring you as much pleasure.
